After earning a doctor of osteopathic medicine from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine, anesthesiologist Dr. Aarohi Ambardekar completed an internal medicine internship at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and a three-year advanced clinical track anesthesia residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. A diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Aarohi Ambardekar has demonstrated extensive knowledge in all of his field’s disciplines, ranging from physiology and pharmacology to ventilator management and invasive line placement.
For the past decade, Dr. Aarohi Ambardekar has practiced at Doctors Community Hospital as a consultant anesthesiologist and partner of Southern Maryland Anesthesia Associates (SMMA) in Lanham, Maryland. In this position, he evaluates surgical patients before their procedure and develops personalized plans for their pre-, intra-, and postoperative care. Along with administering the appropriate pharmaceuticals for regional anesthesia, local anesthesia, or deep sedation, he monitors the physiological functions of patients before and after surgery to ensure their well-being.
Dr. Ambardekar belongs to the Maryland State Anesthesiology Association and the American Society of Anesthesiology. At SMMA, he has previously served as a quality and assurance officer and currently acts as a compliance officer and member of the Operating Room Efficiency Committee and Electronic Medical Records Program.
Besides his medical career, Aarohi Ambardekar, MD, enjoys playing tabla, hiking, road cycling, and mountain biking. He has visited Shenandoah National Park and Acadia National Park, and traveled outside of the United States to Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Europe.
